Pvp question
I only play in random arenas because nobody in the other arenas will accept me because I have no fame.
I made a new build for my warrior today. It's a W/Me with Illusionary Weaponry, an IAS and IMS, endure pain amd sig of strength. I liked this build because I was not succeptible to blind and there are a bunch of blinders in RA right now. It also seems to do good dmg, 34 per hit and never misses. Anyways, my question is why do people call me a noob for using this build? I kill people every match and with endure and sig of str I can tank for a while, which usually works out in a win. Is there something that says "use only THIS build if you don't want to be ridiculed". Thanks in advance. |

They're calling you a noob simply because you are using a bad build. Blinding surge ele blinds you, the only damage you have to rely on is illusionary weapon which really isn't a whole lot. And tanking and staying alive does no good at all if you have bad DPS.
Also if you're having trouble in RA because of lots of Blinds, simply switch to a non melee prof so blind will have no negative effect at all. |

Simply because there are alternatives that have much better damage AND utility than your build.
Illusionary weaponry is very mediocre damage. Compare your 34 damage with say... axe attack skills that typically crit for over 100 on a 60AL target and it's starting to look not so tempting. By the sound of things your bar has no DW either, which is an amazing killing tool, effectively creating upwards of 150 damage disparity for most warrior attacks that cause it. On top of that damage though, most meta warrior bars have a lot of utility thrown in. Knockdowns are a very powerful tool, they ensure that your target is stationary and that it effectively can't defend itself without stances for 3 seconds. Common meta bars carry multiple knockdowns - usually with the intent to chain them for longer exposure. Interrupts are also a warrior staple. The blinds you're having trouble with can be annoying, particularly to newer players, but shutdown is a much more effective way to deal with them than IW. If you're still having issues with this and insist on building your bar around the problem then go for Mend Touch, Plague Touch, or Sight Beyond instead. Low damage - 34 a swing is minor compared to what a warrior should be capable of
Everyone that has a brain that can carry enchant removal will, meaning low damage IW doesn't work with skills, meaning low damage and little spiking potential Tanking isn't something you should be actively doing, since if you're not the target your lesser armoured team mates are. You're a low/non threat to the opponent and therefore useless to your team. |

Just use whatever you like & comfortable with, forget what other people think & dont listen to them. There is always gonna be someone that says "noob" if if your good or not. But if you want to get better builds for specific types of pvp try the pvx website, its got builds that are gonna help your team out a little bit better. And remember its just a game!

Cool thanks you guys. Fortunately I have most of the skills unlocked. I'm just not that crazy about taking a build off the internet and implementing it into the game. I'd rather build it myself.

Hopefully you'll learn how to build decent builds through experimenting, why certain skills work with other skills, and why the good builds that you find on the internet become used so frequently. I applaud you for your resistance to the laziness of using a cookie-cutter build and hopefully if you persist you'll become both a good player and knowledgable about why your build works, unlike the majority of RA players for starters... |

It is good to create builds if you have learned why they are good for the situation. Take a look at the pvx "Great" builds and figure out why they are considered "Great". As a member of a team, you need to synergize your build with the team build.
In Random Arena, due to the fact you don't know what the team build will be, you need to use a build that is generally useful. This means fulfilling your role which as a warrior is to be a visible danger to the other team. This will take pressure off your team's casters. If the opposition sees that you are not doing any damage, they will ignore you.

" It's a W/Me with Illusionary Weaponry, an IAS and IMS, endure pain amd sig of strength"
And btw, you aren't killing people. Your allies are killing them while you sit there and tickle them. That is a terrible build, warriors don't have the energy to maintain Illusory Weaponry, and using that just because people blind you is stupid. 34 damage per hit is tiny (I easily exceed 100), and overall is stupid. Its like using Healing Breeze on a warrior. Sounds good on paper, sucks in reality. |
